LIVING MY LIFE LIKE ITS GOLDEN

Image
I was browsing through Nordstrom online drooling over the Miu Miu fan suede and glitter boots (AGAIN) when I came across these Steve Madden Hastt boots. I am trying to save money so I could not imagine paying almost $900. The Madden's were a great alternative. I had to have them! I must say that the quality is not that great but you get what you pay for, right. For the price, these are a great pair of FUN shoes!! I don't know if you have ever heard Jill Scott's song but that is where I got the title. I thought it was fitting for my outfit as well as how I want to live my life....like its GOLDEN!! Each day that I live is a precious GOLDEN gift from God! Today, I dressed up and celebrated that gift! BLUE CHIFFON

What girl doesn't like chiffon! It is the perfect overlay for giving an elegant and flowing appearance to any item. I love a big poofy chiffon skirt. When I was a little girl I used to love to twirl around in my fancy dresses. What about you? Do you love chiffon? GIRAFFE GENIE

Image
I absolutely ADORE anything animal print. Zebra, Cheetah, Leopard, Giraffe or all of them combined. I found this awesome vintage Giraffe print tie neck blouse on eBay and I had to have it! I paired it with my harem tie ankle pants that remind me of a genie. What better way to compliment the genie pant's than with a turban styled head accessory. I bought this turban at a local $ store and added the flower to give it a sort of June Ambrose vibe (I mean who doesn't love June). I thought the hints of turquoise in the cuffs were the perfect compliment to the animal print blouse. I already had on these earrings when I decided to add the cuffs and I didn't realize that I didn't change into the matching turquoise earrings until it was too late (insert sad face). Anywho...I hope you like it!   OUTFIT INFO Turban - $ store with added flower pin that I already owned Earrings - Gifted Giraffe Blouse - Vintage via eBay Harem Pants - Lane Bryant (old) Wedges - Jeffrey Campbell C

FALL FLORALS

CHURCH OUTFIT

Image
Happy Sunday Y'all! Today was such a blessing! My day started with a phone call from a friend telling me that she wanted to go with us to church. YAY!! Also,my hubby who usually works Sunday's took the day off so that he could spend the day with us. Today my pastor spoke on how FAITH can overcomes obstacles. If we believe then we will work for it and we will speak the things that are not as though they are. We need to stop focusing on the negative and start focusing on the positive. Death and life are in the power of your tongue. No matter what your situation, we are over comers by the blood of the lamb! God has the power to change your situation. You may be sick but God is a healer! You may be broke but God is a provider! Put your FAITH in God! FLOOR SWEEPING PLEATS

Image
Hey Y'all!! I have not been posting much because...well...life. Life has a way of taking priority over your hobbies. Both my hubby and daughter are back in school and we are just getting back into the swing of things. Work has also been super busy and to be honest, I've just been too tired to post. Today, I decided to get up and put together an outfit worthy of posting. I adore these awesome wide leg floor sweeping pleated pants (that was a mouth full) and I paired them with an African top that I found at a thrift store. I actually purchased 2 African oufits (tops with matching skirts). The print of both are beautiful and I can't wait to mix and match them up with other prints but I have to have the skirts tailored. OUTFIT INFO African Top - Thrifted Pleated Pants - ASOS Curve Suede Pumps - Modern Vintage Necklace - F21 These pants are super long! I am 5' 8" and I have on 3" pumps! I will most def have to wear a higher shoe (Lita-ish) with these next time

FOR I HAVE LEARNED TO BE CONTENT WHATEVER THE CIRCUMSTANCES

This weekend I took my daughter to her first Pow Wow. She had a blast! Here are some pics. Warning...this post is very picture and word heavy. Please read it all. I pray it blesses you. "...for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances" Philippians 4:11b (NIV) Have you ever noticed how overextending yourself tends to bring unwanted pressure into your life? I think we tend to busy ourselves in order to gain more, find acceptance among peers, land a better position, and gain riches of all kinds. Perhaps we live under the illusion that having such riches is what makes a person complete, content, and deliriously happy. Yet, when we discover that's not the case, we're left feeling empty and discontent. Contentment and security are not found in career titles or in the kind of car we own. Th

FRINGED

Image
It has cooled down about 12 to 15 degrees here in Dallas and I am taking full advantage of the cooler weather. Today I pulled out my over the knee boots and decided to pair them with cropped pants. I love this look and wear it often in the fall/winter. I am very excited because last night I organized my closet (well sorta) and I see that I have most of the fall "must-haves" right in my closet. I donate my trendy things every season but I keep my classic pieces like furs, boots and dresses. One trend that is "in" this season is fringe. Fringe boots in particular. I am Native American so it is only natural that I own a pair of fringe boots (moccasin's) but I am also a sucker for anything fringe... like this purse! lol    Outfit Info Blazer - Lane Bryant Purple silk top (looks blue in pics) - Thrifted Red cropped pants - Lane Bryant Over the knee boots - Franco Sarto Fringe handbag - Steve Madden Cross necklace - F21 Watch - Michael Kors With Love, Kiah p.s.
